Use it to map out your garden edging layout, estimate the SNAP-IT™ mould pieces and fixings required, check your project summary, and order with more confidence.
It is especially handy for curves, corners, custom layouts, separate edges, longer runs, and projects where guessing the parts list would be a pain.
You either had to calculate the pieces yourself, or use printable design files to cut out SNAP-IT™ shapes and physically test your layout.
That worked, but it was not exactly quick.
The SNAP-IT™ Builder gives you a simpler way to plan. You can sketch the shape, add SNAP-IT™ pieces, estimate what you need, and save a project summary before you order.
For best results, use the SNAP-IT™ Builder on a desktop or laptop.
You can browse the website on mobile, but a larger screen gives you more room to draw, zoom, adjust points, place pieces and work with curved or custom layouts. If you run into issues, we recommend trying Chrome.
It also helps to have rough measurements ready before you start. The Builder opens in Step 1: Set Up Garden.
Click on the grid to place points and draw your first edge. The SNAP-IT™ Builder uses a 1m x 1m grid, so each square gives you a rough guide to scale.
You can draw a full garden bed, a single straight run, a corner, a path edge, a driveway edge, or multiple separate sections.
For simple square or rectangular garden beds, your drawn outline may look similar to the edge you want to build.
For curves, circles and more complex layouts, it often works better to use your drawn outline as a scale reference, then place SNAP-IT™ pieces inside the space like building blocks.
If your first line is close but not quite right, switch to Edit Mode.
Edit Mode lets you move existing points and refine the shape you have drawn.
Draw Mode is for creating new edges. Edit Mode is for moving what is already there.
The Draw Mode / Edit Mode button
works as a toggle:
– If the button says Edit Mode, you are currently in Draw Mode
– If the button says Draw Mode, you are currently in Edit Mode
Once your working space is ready, select Next Step or choose Step 2: Add Products.
This opens the product panel, where you can add SNAP-IT™ mould pieces to your design.
Drag pieces into the layout, then rotate and reposition them until they suit the edge you want to form.
For simple layouts, you may place pieces directly along the edge you have drawn.
For curves, circles and custom shapes, it is often easier to build the layout piece by piece inside your working area.
Once you are happy with your layout, use Save Image on the left-hand side of the Builder.
This downloads a visual summary of your design, including key measurements, SNAP-IT™ products used, recommended lock pin packs, recommended steel rebar packs, estimated concrete required and product total.
The concrete figure is an estimate to help guide your planning. As a general installation guide, one 20kg bag of instant concrete covers approximately 1.1m of SNAP-IT™ edging.
SNAP-IT™ supplies the mould system used to form your concrete garden edging. You will need to supply your own concrete and any finishing materials needed for your project.

When your design is ready, review your custom kit summary.
The SNAP-IT™ Builder can add the proposed custom kit to your cart automatically. From there, you can continue to checkout and place your order.
You can also edit your cart before purchase or add extra pieces from the Shop if needed.
Lock pins and steel rebar may be added to your project. These are strongly recommended because they help with installation and reinforcement, but they are not required to complete a purchase if you already have suitable alternatives available.
Remember: SNAP-IT™ is the mould system used to form your concrete garden edging. It is not pre-made concrete edging, and concrete is not included.
If you want to create a new, unconnected edge or border, select Finish Edge before you start drawing the next one.
This is useful for projects with more than one garden bed, a separate path edge, or multiple sections in a larger outdoor
project.
If you do not select Finish Edge, the SNAP-IT™ Builder will keep connecting your next point to the existing edge.
The SNAP-IT™ Builder shows labels for dimensions and products by default.
These are useful when checking your layout, but they can get in the way when you are zoomed out or rearranging pieces.
Use the label / eye toggle in the bottom toolbar to hide or show labels as needed.
You can zoom in and out using the controls in the bottom toolbar.
Because SNAP-IT™ pieces are drawn to scale, they can become hard to see when you are zoomed too far out.
If you are planning a larger project, it may be easier to work in smaller sections rather than trying to build the whole site on screen at once.
Save Image downloads a visual project summary.
Export saves your SNAP-IT™ Builder file, so you can reload the design later using Import.
The SNAP-IT™ Builder should remember your design from one session to the next, but Export gives you a backup file. This is useful if you are working on a larger project with multiple sections
or want to come back to the design later.
Use the Undo button in the bottom toolbar to reverse your last action. Use Delete carefully, as this removes the design.
No. You do not need to draw a closed border.
Draw at least one edge in Draw Mode so the SNAP-IT™ Builder has scale to work from, then move through the planning process from there.
Switch to Edit Mode, then drag the points into position.
Select Next Step or choose Step 2: Add Products.
That opens the product panel, where you can drag SNAP-IT™ pieces into your design.

Use Finish Edge before starting your next unconnected edge or border
Yes. Use Save Image to download a visual summary of your project.
Use Export if you want to save the SNAP-IT™ Builder file and reload it later with Import.
